<image:caption>The ticket price allows for one sample at each of the 20+ participating restaurants as well as event entry. Since its inception in 2006, Taste of Havasu, our signature fundraising event has been dedicated to supporting our local schools, with proceeds benefiting our educational programs. Tickets for this highly anticipated event sell out quickly, so be sure to purchase yours in advance at a discounted rate. We are proud to note that 100% of the funds raised go directly back into our schools and support our teachers. Additionally, each local area restaurant that participates in the event has generously partnered with us, donating their time and delicious samples offered at the event. We extend our gratitude to these establishments and encourage everyone to show their appreciation by patronizing them throughout the year.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Congratulations to the January 2026 recipient at Oro Grande Classical Academy Tessa Chiesa ! The Sherry Dailey Golden Apple Award first began in 2012 and is awarded monthly during the school year to an exceptional certified teacher who demonstrates selfless dedication and excellence in their work. Each award recipient is chosen by the peers of their school. The K-12 Foundation is joined by community members who share in the celebration. Alex and Cinda Ross State Farm Insurance, Shugrue’s Family of Restaurants, Anderson Auto Group, Small Cakes, College Street Brewery, Human Bean, Steven’s Tacos, Destination Havasu, Bliss Beauty Bar and Concord General Contracting. Each of these businesses provide gifts to the recipient as well as receiving a plaque from the K-12 Foundation in recognition of their achievement. Here is what Tessa's peers said: I am voting for Tessa because she is an exceptional physical education teacher who plays a vital role in our school community far beyond the gymnasium. While she promotes health, teamwork, and confidence through her PE classes, her impact reaches well outside that space. Tessa consistently supports our students in every setting, always stepping in where help is needed and ensuring they feel encouraged and cared for. She selflessly covers duties, willingly takes on additional responsibilities, and never hesitates to help out when our staff needs support. Her positive attitude, reliability, and genuine commitment to our students make a noticeable difference every day. Tessa’s dedication and excellence truly embody the spirit of this award, and she is more than deserving of this recognition. Tessa is always putting others before herself. She makes PE engaging and really cares about student's well-being inside and outside of the classroom. Tessa is a kind coworker and she supports classroom teachers. Tessa consistently maintains a positive attitude at school toward both students and staff. She willingly goes out of her way to cover classes when another specialist is absent, ensuring that students continue to receive all of their scheduled specials for the day. In addition, she is especially attentive to students who need extra support, offering help to those who are struggling or need assistance transitioning into the classroom. Her dedication and supportive nature make a meaningful difference in our school. Tessa is always going above and beyond for the students and staff. She is always one of the first people to jump in and help around campus. She is amazing with the students. She has a high expectation for students and holds them to it. She is very well respected among staff and students. Students love her and I have never seen kids so excited to go to PE! Congratulations Tessa Chiesa !</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Sherry Dailey Golden Apple Award for December was presented to teacher Tim Murphy from the Lake Havasu High School. Here are a few things his peers shared: Tim is patient and very helpful with his students. He helps out in other areas when a class needs to be covered. He is always happy and a joy to work with. He is one of those teachers that loves kids and they love him. He will stay late or come in early to work with a student. He brings a positive energy to our school. Tim does his best to form relationships with students and he works tirelessly to help the students as well as his colleagues. Students feel welcome in his class and they feel like they can be successful, regardless of their previous math experience. Tim goes above and beyond every day to make connections with kids. He is the teammate we should all aspire to be.
